5 Things to Shock Your System

How busy are you? If you’re anything like me, you enjoy having places to go, people to see, and things to do. But too much of this can lead to an unhealthy amount of anxiety, depression, or burnout.

One of the biggest underlying problems with busyness is the false sense of purpose it produces. Like candy curbs your appetite for real food, busyness makes you feel like you’re on purpose, even though you’re probably not. Busyness masquerades as a counterfeit for real purpose.

Fast and Shock Your System

Here are five disruptive actions you can take to shock your system toward a heightened sense of purpose and healthier work-life integration:

  1. Go complaint-free for 24 hours. Just try it; you’ll see what I mean—detoxing your mind for better clarity.
  2. Fast from three meals in a row to reveal gratitude. It opens up your mind for clarity, decision-making, and creativity.
  3. Create a (mission) purpose statement for personal and professional clarity! Then, you can socialize it and/or be accountable for it.
  4. Get a mentor, life coach, or therapist for wise decision-making and support.
  5. Take a 12-hour day by yourself away from the city. Or join us in North Georgia on 9/20/24 (includes group and solo time) — email [email protected] for more info.

Give one or all five a try. Let me know what you do.

And make the balance of your summer unforgettable.
