Millennial Bosses – Workplace Trends

by

Andy Christiansen

The oldest Millennials are now becoming managers and replacing Baby Boomers. A Korn Ferry study found 83% of U.S. employees now have Millennials managing Boomers and Gen Xers in the workplace.

The question is whether Millennial managers will bring the trends they say are important to them into the workplace (work 3.0), or if they will maintain the outdated but ever-present WWII factory-era management style (work 2.0) perpetuating low engagement, turnover, and poor work-life balance.

Work 1.0 was the industrial era.

Work 2.0 was the information era.

Work 3.0 is the connection era.

See the chart below for the millennial top 10 trends at work.
